Our sweet little guy can now eat peanuts, peanut butter and REESE's Peanut Butter Cups!!!! Oh yes - I think I'm most excited about the 3rd item - how can you NOT love peanut butter and chocolate together????
Today, Jack took his third and final test for his peanut allergy - the oral challenge. It's a controlled test done in the allergist's office - every fifteen minutes, he's fed peanut butter. They take his vitals and check for hives for an hour...and he passed!!! So with his blood work and skin test all negative, this was the final step to being peanut allergy free! YEA! We still have to watch out for those pesky walnuts (he's still allergic) and so I still have to carry an epi-pen with me but this big step is so exciting for us.
Of course, I took him to our little general store for a "candy" treat after the doctor's appointment...thinking he could pick out a Snickers, Peanut M&M's or a Reese's Cup - Nope, he chose Skittles! ha! Guess I was more excited about this than he was...aw well, now we can add peanut butter to our shopping list! Go Jack!
